* Jumpers for disabling serial data and COR-PTT routing on simplex links.
* Optional CTCSS interface board for 1 of 10 CTCSS tone decode selection (used for custom systems only).
Multiple Link Controller (CI-RC-4M)
The Daniels CI-RC-4M Multiple Link Controller, is a radio router that enables repeater steering across multiple hops through the entire radio network by providing control of multiple Daniels MT-4 Digital P25 radio links. The CI-RC-4M Multiple Link Controller is capable of controlling up to four P25 RX/TX radio pairs and is housed in a 1U 19” rack mountable module. This unit can control each transceiver pair in a number of different configurations from standard drops and links to CTCSS, NAC and DTMF controlled drops and links. 7 CTCSS tones and 7 NAC codes can be programmed into each path of the controller allowing the user to steer the transceivers by turning links “On” and “Off”. Transmitter channels can be changed, according to a global channel selection table, using NACs (channels 1-16) or CTCSS tones (channels 1-15.) This system also has an auxiliary E&M connection available which can connect up to four transceiver pairs. This external connection can be used in cases where tone remotes are required at a site.
The Multiple Link Controller offers the following capabilities:
* Housed in a standard 1U 19“ rack mount module
* E&M interface
* Supports interconnection between 4 transmitters and receivers
* Steering based on NAC codes, COR, CTCSS, or DTMF tones
* Capable of changing Transmitter channels
* Enabling and disabling transceivers
* Supports Analog or Digital mode per link
* Operational from -40ºC to +60ºC
* Low current drain - < 20 mA
* Software programmable with GUI screen driven menus using the front panel USB or RS-232 ports
* Built in self test diagnostics
Universal Interface Card (UIC-4-00)
The Daniels digital Universal Interface card (UIC) provides an Ethernet connection from the Daniels MT-4 P25 radio system to other LMR subsystems in a P25 network. The UIC provides Daniels customers with access to our P25 base station's signals in order to interface with other RF subsystems and console equipment, thus enabling third parties access to a wide range of signals, controls and functionalities that already exist on our radio modules.
Backplane signals as well as the front panel connections between the Transmitter and the Receiver are extended externally out of the radio via the UIC Ethernet connection. This provides additional functionality compared with the analog offering currently supported on Daniels radios via the Aux interface.
The first version of the UIC provides a base suite of functionality including:
* Channel Control (Channel Select Lines, Bank A/B Select Lines)
* Base Control ( Secure/Clear - Control & Indication)
* Squelch Control (Squelch Override)
* Repeater Control (LVDS DATA - Reading NAC only)
* Power Monitoring (Battery voltages)
* Programming capability through the Ethernet RJ45 front panel connection.
Analog Base / Cross Repeater Control Card (AC-3E)
The AC-3E Audio Control Card has cross linking audio, audio switching, custom tone signaling and adjustable hang-timers. The E Version has the above features and includes an E & M interface providing 600 Ω RX and TX audio paths with buffered / independent level controls, opto - coupler isolated COR and opto - coupler switched PTT controls. This card allows a remote to seize control of the radio system.
The AC-3E audio control card includes four potentiometers on the front panel for adjusting internal audio levels. Optional CTCSS and frequency select rotary switches can also be mounted on the front panel of the audio control cards, giving easy access to 10 pre-programmed CTCSS tones and 16 pre-programmed receiver and transmitter operating frequencies. Two switches are mounted on the front of the audio control card that can be configured to control CTCSS on / off or repeat disable. Configuration of all switches on the audio control card is set up at the factory at the time of order.
Paging Interface Card (CI-PM-3)
The CI-PM-3 Paging Interface card supports encoder interfaces for analog and digital paging formats. Both analog and digital paging formats are supported and it can transmit POCSAG, Flex™, Golay, and other 2-level modulation schemes at data transfer rates of 512, 1200, and 2400 Baud. It can also be configured as a data repeater, whereby 2-level paging data is recovered, reshaped and retransmitted to an additional repeater/paging transmitter.
It supports 4-level modulation formats in non-repeater mode only at data transfer rates up to 1600bps. Each of the four modulation deviation levels can be independently set. The CI-PM-3 Paging Modulator also includes an on-board 0.1-0.35 ppm 10-MHz OCXO and an external connection forhigher OCXO stability if a Simulcast system is required. An internal CTCSS encoder/decoder is optional.
Control Options
Audio control options give the operator a number of ways to control the radio. Daniels currently manufactures: CTSS encoder/decoders, DTMF decoders, Two-tone sequential decoders, sequential encoders, burst tone decoders, digitally controlled squelch encoder/decoders, CTCSS rotary encoder/decoders, and two 16 channel rotary frequency switches. The audio control options operate from -40° C to + 60° C, are mounted internally on Daniels AC-3x series of control cards and can be configured for wide ranging radio control functions.
CTCSS Encoder - Operates between 67 and 255 Hz (±.01Hz). The tone output is a low distortion sine wave with a variable setting from 0 - 2 Vdc. The encoder draws approximately 5 mA.
CTCSS Decoder/Encoder - Operates between 67 and 255 Hz (±.01Hz). The tone output is a low distortion sine wave with a variable setting from 0 - 2 Vdc. The decoder / encoder draws approximately 14 mA. The tone is selected on a BCD DIP switch. The encode and decode tones are not selected separately. A separate encoder must be purchased to use different tones.
DTMF Decoder - The subminiature DTMF decoder will respond to an address of 2 to 4 digits in length using any of the 16 DTMF characters. The decoder incorporates Group, All Call and Remote Reset features. The DTMF decoder draws 12 mA.
Two-Tone Sequential Decoder - controls repeater operations by selecting latched outputs in response to group call formats of F1 or F2. The decoder is continuously tunable on any tone frequency over a specified range. This decoder is compatible with a wide range of special tone formats. The decoder draws 8 mA.
Sequential Tone Encoder - generates selectable tones for tone protected base stations. The encoder is continuously tunable on frequencies over a specified range (300 Hz to 3kHz). This encoder is compatible with a wide range of special tone formats and is capable of sending F1 and F2 formats. The encoder draws 8 mA.
Burst Tone Decoder - controls repeater operations by selecting latched outputs in response to "Burst Tones" or "Single Tone" formats. The decoder is continuously tunable on any tone frequency over a specified range. This decoder is compatible with a wide range of special tone formats. The decoder draws 8 mA.
Digitally Coded Squelch - Encoder / Decoder - controls repeater operations by selecting latched outputs in response to 23 bit DCS code words. PCB jumpering allows easy programming for the DCS code, RX / TX polarity, and Mute functions. Squelch tail elimination is controlled by an end of transmission turn off code. The decoder draws 10 mA.
